In Krasnoyarsk Krai, as part of the Almab dry lumber sorting line modernization at Lesosibirsky LDK No. 1 (part of the Segezha Group holding) the foreign scanner was replaced with a modern lumber quality scanning system RuScan produced by AVTOMATIKA-VEKTOR. This is the second RuScan installed at Segezha Group enterprises recently. The lumber quality scanner is the "heart" of sorting, on which the entire efficiency of sawmill production ultimately depends.
Using Russian equipment will not only ensure the technological sovereignty of the enterprise, but will also significantly increase the efficiency of the production process. Sorting of 85% of lumber on the old equipment was done using a marker. There was no possibility of purchasing separate measuring units for repairing the outdated scanner. People were frankly suffering, trying to raise productivity and quality on clearly outdated equipment.
The installation of RuScan allowed the sawmill to raise the quality of sorting to a new level and use human resources more competently: one operator is enough to work with our scanner.
The results of the modernization are already noticeable - the quality of sorting has increased to 93%. Accordingly, due to better optimization in quality, the useful yield of lumber has also increased.
The service personnel of the line and the management of the enterprise highly appreciated the results of the modernization, opening up new prospects for the enterprise in the near future.
