New developments. Among the most relevant novelties is RuScan lumber quality and geometrical parameters scanner with trimming optimization function. This system is designed for lumber sorting lines operating at speeds from 60 to 180 boards per minute.
The percentage of veneer output from the piece of log depends on the accuracy of the centering and loading device on the peeling line, which affects the raw material consumption coefficient.
AVTOMATIKA-VEKTOR developed the centering and loading device control system based on the VECTOR-LVM modules, which have long proven themselves in VECTOR-3D log measuring devices. The modules are connected to an industrial PC, on which the optimization of the log position is calculated and from where commands are transmitted to the controller, which controls the system.
Due to more detailed 3D scanning of the piece of log, taking into account any shapes and sizes, precise alignment of the piece of log economic centering axis with the axis of the peeling machine spindles, the consumption coefficient of the veneer log and the amount of piece veneer are reduced, which allows obtaining a larger number of whole sheets and, thereby, increasing the percentage of veneer output.
