The Sprecher Automation scanners were replaced with our VECTOR log measuring devices at one of the enterprises in Novgorod Oblast, Russia.
A special feature of the project was the customer's requirement to accept and account for sawlogs from suppliers to the debarking machine according to GOST (State Standard), and distribute debarked logs into pockets according to an internal method for determining the diameter. For this purpose, two VECTOR-3D scanners were installed: one before and one after the debarker, and the corresponding software was developed.
Another special feature of the line was the presence of an additional sorting conveyor with pockets. Logs sent to pockets on an additional conveyor are dumped onto a storage table, and then onto an additional conveyor moving in the opposite direction. This line design allows for compact placement of 56 pockets.
